CWC Welcomes New Staff Member, Meleny Peña-Johnson!

CWC is excited to announce the addition of our newest staff member, Meleny Peña-Johnson! Meleny joins Common Wealth Charlotte (CWC) as a Financial Counselor. In this role she will assist financial and credit counseling with clients to help them obtain their long-term goal of greater financial wellness. 

 

Meleny’s hometown is Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, and she has now been living in Charlotte for 30 years. Her favorite thing about Charlotte is the diversity and being able to live close to family. Since moving here, she has gained 13 years of public health experience, including previously working for Mecklenburg County. With a strong background in public health and social services, Meleny understands the broader impact of financial stability on overall well-being. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she joins CWC dedicated to empowering her clients with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed financial decisions. CWC is excited to have her on staff as she offers a special mix of skills, talent, demeanor, and experience needed to serve our clients. 

 

Meleny believes that financial education is key to fostering independence and resilience in her community. Her favorite financial motto is by Tiffany “The Budgetnista” Aliche, “financial wholeness is when all the aspects of your financial life are working together for your greatest good, your biggest benefit, and your richest life.”
